Bhashpanjali

Hi Everyone,

Here is the english translation of a poem my dad wrote the day
before my mom's funeral as he lay awake flooded with memories of her.
Please go to the photos section and click on "Bhashpanjali" to read
the original malayalam poem. Thank you and God bless you all. Happy
New year.

Endless Love: An Offering of Tears for My Beloved
A translation of: Priyatamekku Oru Bhashpanjali

Lily,
she was, the delicate flower of my life
The fortune was mine, to have you as my wife
And in the span of 3 brief decades' time,
Be held in the warmth of your sweet love sublime
She raised two daughters in God's love and beauty
And more than fulfilled her God-given duty
And nourished me daily, in spirit and in health
I thank you God for her my only wealth
Exemplary in works of charity
She always was and will forever be
A beacon of light, virtuous and true
My pining heart will not bid thee adieu
And craves to whisper sweet words in your ears
To hold you in my arms, to wipe away your tears
Return to me, my love, let us begin again
Our journey of love with no beginning and no end
Yet, I am but a man, who has no choice
The anguish of my soul, I have not words to voice
Mechanically, I go about my life
While my mind broods in silent, bitter strife
Life of my life lay serenely in my arms
A smile on her lips of sweet, angelic charm
Hearing the angel's call, she left without a word
To join them and rests in the bosom of Our Lord
Hopeless am I that you have left me in this place
Longing to hold my beloved close in warm embrace
I offer countless kisses upon your lovely face
And hope to join you soon, having finished this race
To hear you tell of those highest heavenly sights,
In your glorious abode, draped in robes of white
Our endless love for you cannot abate
With undying hope, our children and I shall wait
